Reading in Community

Solomon, a pithy wordsmith, indicted himself along with all writers and publishers with the observation that "of making many books, there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh" (Ecclesiastes 12:12).  But that doesn't mean we should give up on reading. It just means we should be more choosey. Life is short. Read wisely. But also read with others. You'll get more out of a book if you do.

What Is Church Reads?

Quarterly discussions from trustworthy authors on practical topics from books 200 pages or less that help us carry the cross of Christ more knowledgeably. Our motive is to get our church together more and to encourage fellowship in homes around practical issues affecting how we live as Christians and as the local church. We read books that apply sound theology more deeply which our weekly Word ministries may not be able to cover.
