Contend with Compassion

A contending church is not a contentious church. Jude encourages believers to contend without contention by remembering, remaining, and rescuing. Jude encourages believers to remember the faithful apostolic teachings and stay away from false teachings. Jude also tells the believers to remain by building up the church in fellowship, the sacraments, prayer, meditation on Scripture, and service to other brothers and sisters. Finally, Jude tells believers to rescue those who are doubting, those who are headed for hell, and those who are perverting the gospel.
